Water came back on for some but thousands faced a weekend without


Thousands of homes were left without water over the weekend due to burst pipes, although supplies are beginning to return to some customers.
An estimated 40,000 homes are believed to have been affected by the incident in Dolgarrog, County Conwy, on Wednesday.
Welsh Water confirmed that the pipe had been repaired on Friday afternoon, but water could not be fully restored “for 48 hours”.
Schools and businesses were heavily affected on Thursday and Friday and some events have been cancelled, including Saturday’s Conwy parkrun at the RSPB nature reserve, Llandudno Junction.

Welsh Water said supplies would return at different times for different people and that “discoloured water” is normal after supply disruptions.
The company said thousands of homes had been restored by Saturday morning.
Some people in the town of Conwy said their water started “dripping” again at around 04:00 GMT on Saturday morning.

Eligible households will be paid £30 for every 12 hours their supply is affected, while business customers will be paid £75 for every 12 hours, with the ability to make additional claims online for lost earnings Will be.
Bottled water stations have been installed at four stations, operating at Park Arias in Colwyn, Zip World Conwy, Llandudno West Shore Car Park and the Bodlondeb site in Conwy.
Chief executive Peter Perry apologized to all those affected, calling the situation a “significant emergency” which the company “could not have predicted or prevented”.
