Wallace and Gromit make surprise appearance on Strictly
Animated superstars Wallace and Gromit made a special guest appearance on Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing, with co-host Claudia Winkleman saying it was “the best thing that ever happened to me”.
The couple – dog Gromit and cheese-loving inventor Wallace – appeared via “video link” to read the terms and conditions before viewers voted for their favorite celebrity dancer.
When Winkleman crossed “live” to his house while Wallace was still in the shower, Gromit stepped in once again to save the day.
Wallace and Gromit will be appearing in the latest Aardman film Vengeance Most Foul on BBC One this Christmas Day.
Covering for Wallace in his home studio with a silver disco ball, a bright purple rainbow background and a large cup o’ cha cha cha on the desk, Gromit played a “practice tape” of the inventor reading the terms and conditions. Voting.
Wallace soon walks into the room to take charge, wearing a larger-than-life bright red bow tie along with his usual clothes.
As expected, Wallace had an accident – his seat fell off the back of the desk in the middle of reading the conditions.
“Good luck to all the couples,” Wallace said, peering over the top of the desk with a thumbs up, while Gromit held up a score paddle with a “7”.
Vengeance Most Foul will feature the return of villainous penguin Feathers McGrath, who first appeared in 1993’s The Wrong Trousers, as he seeks revenge on the two.
Aardman Animations’ stop-motion film can be watched on Christmas Day at 18:10 GMT and will also be on BBC iPlayer,
