Vigil held at Auschwitz ‘Wall of Death’ after 80 years

Survivors of Auschwitz have begun commemorations in Poland on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp.

People walked to the ‘Wall of Death’ and left candles to pay their respects outside Block 11 in Auschwitz, where SS officers executed thousands of prisoners.

Polish President Andrzej Duda also spoke at the first part of the tribute day.
