VE for flypast and concert 80th remembrance

The 80th anniversary of VE Day will be a four -day festival, which includes a flypast, concert and a Westminster Abe Service, the government has announced.
After 80 years after the end of World War II in Europe, the memorial will run from the bank holiday on Monday, May 5.
The legendary events will be involved, only with a shrinking number of generations, who will be involved in the last major war -memory of the service involvers.
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandi said, “People from all over the society will be able to listen to the stories of our veterans first, to reflect and remember.”
And it will be “the opportunity to pay tribute to all those who serve in World War II and reflect values for which they were fighting”.
Ruth Bourne, 98, who worked at the Wartime Code-Breaking Base at Blechli Park, Bux, will attend the memory.
She remembers how the war ended and the VD ceremony was held on 8 May 1945, when the Nazi rule in Germany was defeated.
Ruth says, “There was an electric discussion among all and finally the Royals came out and waved, and we became happy like crazy, whatever we had,” Ruth says.
“People climbed every available lamppost, burnt bonfire in Hyde Park and we sat around the songs.
“Many did not go to bed that night.”
Defense Secretary John Heli said: “What we enjoy independence today was defended by our remarkable World War II generation.
“Today our duty is to protect the British values that he sacrificed a lot to maintain.”
Tara Knights of Royal British Legion said: “We will run educational and community engagement programs to encourage everyone to join this important occasion.”
