US says Guantanamo prisoner sent back to Tunisia

The US Defense Department says Guantanamo Bay prisoner Rida bin Saleh al-Yazidi has been returned to Tunisia.
A press statement said he was found eligible for transfer from the detention facility after a “rigorous inter-agency review process.”
The Pentagon did not say whether Mr. Yazidi had admitted any crimes.
Since 2002, the term Guantanamo Bay detention facility has been used to describe what it describes as unlawful combatants captured during the US “war on terrorism”.
The camp is part of a US naval base complex in south-eastern Cuba.
Pentagon statement It was said that 26 detainees remained at Guantanamo Bay, of whom 14 were eligible for transfer.
