United Nations chief expresses ‘concern’ on Trump’s freeze on US foreign aid
Experts say that ‘many, many lives’ will be spent by the order of Trump administration to prevent foreign aid.
The head of the United Nations has expressed concern over President Donald Trump’s decision to stop foreign aid from the United States as his administration promotes its “America first” agenda.
During a news conference on Monday, a spokesman by Antonio Guterres said that the United Nations Secretary -General had called the policy change “with anxiety”.
Stephen Duseric told reporters, “He called for additional discounts to ensure significant growth for the weakest communities around the world and continuous distribution of human activities.”
“Life and livelihood depend on this support,” Dujarik said, saying that America is “one of the biggest support providers” in the world.

Trump signed an executive order immediately after taking oath for a second term on 20 January, ordered all federal government agencies to stop 90 days on foreign development assistance and review the existing programs.

A few days later, the US State Department said in a memorandum that it was suspending almost all new funding for foreign aid programs with exceptions to the top Middle East colleagues, Israel and Egypt.
The order on Friday also included emergency food aid and discounts for related expenses.
The department defended the measures on Sunday, said in a statement, “President Trump clearly stated that the United States is no longer withdrawing money with no return to American people.”
The statement also confirmed the support of Marco Rubio of the newly married state for Trump -led policy.
