Trump’s participation helps PGA Tour get closer to the live golf deal: Commissioner | Golf news

The PGA Commissioner wants the US President to talk on a deal with a breakway live golf in the hope of ending the split of sports at the professional level.

The PGA Tour has asked President Donald Trump to help the broker to deal with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) that could lead to a long -awaited alliance between parties.

The PIF is a financial backer of the Live Golf League, which has wooed some stars of the PGA Tour with their big-related contracts and payment of tournaments.

In a statement released on Thursday, PGA Tour said Commissioner J. Monahan and player Director Adam Scott met Trump on Tuesday.

“We know the player-director Tiger Woods.

“We asked the President to join the good of the game, the good of the country and all the countries involved. We are grateful that his leadership has brought us closer to a final deal, paving the way for the reunion of men’s professional golf. ,

More than 18 months have passed for PGA Tour, DP World Tour and PIF and PIF announced a “framework agreement” for a alliance, which shook the world of sports. The parties set a deadline to finalize the deal on 31 December, 2023.

Last year’s only real news came in June, when PIF Governor Yasir Al-Rumayayan met representatives of the PGA Tour in the week of the anniversary of the Framework Agreement in New York.

Trump has standing and reliability with live founders.

His Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami is hosting an event in April, as in 2023. That year, Washington, DC and Bedminster, Trump courses in NJ also held live events.

On Tuesday, Trump said he would soon visit the Middle East including Saudi Arabia, although no exact date was announced.
