Troy Deeney’s Team of the Week: Schar, Merino, Salah, Diaz, Delap

Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz (Liverpool): Another game, another goal, another assist. They both look exactly like football comes very easy to them.

They’re really enjoying themselves, Liverpool are enjoying themselves. We are in the midst of seeing something special with this team at 45 points with one game to go at the end of the year. He could have easily crossed the 100 mark and run away with the title.

Liam Delap (Ipswich): I believe this is a first for Team of the Week. I was again toying with Alexander Isaac or even a big Chris Wood, but watched the Ipswich game against Chelsea – and expected Chelsea to do a number on Ipswich – if I’m completely honest.

That was really cool, that’s the kind of delap I wanted to see. He used his physical attributes, he is still raw, it’s okay because he is young. He was attractive in link-up play but worked hard defensively when his team really needed him. When his team passed the ball to him, he kept it with him and took care of it.

They have forced Chelsea’s defenders, who are not that great, to look average, and that may be the case. If Ipswich have any chance of survival, it’s all down to him my friend. It’s about how ugly and aggressive he can be. He got a good goal and a good assist.
