How to change name in train ticket
It is easy to change the details in the train ticket of Indian Railways but it is important for you to have correct information about it. Be sure to know the rules for changing the name and date in the confirmed ticket. If you want to transfer your ticket to someone else, there are rules for that also. Tickets can be transferred only to family members like father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband or wife. In group bookings made for government officials, students on study tours, or similar cases, tickets can be transferred within the group.

How to transfer tickets
To transfer your ticket, you will have to visit the Railway Reservation Office at least 24 hours before the departure of the train. There you will have to submit an application to change your name. Along with this, the ID of the ticket holder and the ID of the person in whose name it is to be transferred will have to be given there. Give the application along with proof documents to the railway officer.

Note that the name can be changed only once on a ticket. At the same time, if you have booked a ticket online then this facility will not be available on it.

How to change date in train ticket
If you have booked your train ticket for a wrong date, then change is possible for this also with certain conditions. To change the date, you will have to go to the nearest Railway Reservation Center at least 48 hours in advance. Show the confirmed ticket at the counter and submit the date change request. If a seat is not available for you on the date mentioned, you can choose another date.

This facility is not provided in tickets booked online. Date change facility is available only for tickets booked over the counter. If the passenger wants to change the date booked online, then the passenger will have to cancel the ticket and book a new ticket for the new date.
