Denmark has unveiled a plan to promote its military appearance in the Arctic and North Atlantic region.
Copenhagen announced on Monday that it would pump an additional 14.6 billion Danish Crown ($ 2.05BN) under protection. The announcement occurred when the European country opposed the demands from the United States President Donald Trump to hand over the control of Greenland.
“Arctic and North Atlantic have serious challenges about security and defense,” Denmark Defense Minister Trolls Lund Paison said in a statement.

Earlier this month, Trump said Greenland is important for American security and Denmark should quit control.
The US Army has a permanent appearance in the Pitfic Space Base in Northwestern Greenland, a strategic place for its ballistic missile initial-warning system, as the smallest route from Europe to North America runs through the island.
Denmark, while responsible for the protection and defense of Greenland, has limited military capabilities on the giant island, widely considered as a security black hole.

As part of the package, Denmark will find three new ships in Arctic water around Greenland, increasing long distance drones and satellite capacity.
Currently, Denmark’s capabilities include four aging inspection vessels, a challenger surveillance aircraft and 12 dog sled petrols, all assigned the job of monitoring an area four times from the size of France.
Following a rigor of more than a decade in defense spending, last year Denmark allocated 190 billion Danish Crown ($ 26BN) to its army over a 10 -year period, part of the Arctic now now allocated to the Arctic.
In Copenhagen, the Ministry of Defense said that the government has agreed to the widespread majority of parliamentary parties and new packages with close cooperation with the governments of Faro Islands and Greenland.
