At least three people have been killed in a Russian drone attack near the capital of Ukraine.
The internal ministry said on Friday that drone debris killed two men and a woman in an overnight attack on the Central Kiev area, damaging a residential apartment building, eight houses, commercial buildings and several cars.
The attack came when Russian officials said the country’s air defense systems stopped and destroyed 121 drones started by Ukraine overnight. The Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Telegram, “Drone was dropped in 13 Russian areas in 13 Russian areas, including seven overs Moscow and nearby areas.”
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobianin said the drone was intercepted at many places around the capital.
Russian news agencies quoted the Federal Aviation Agency as saying that two Moscow airports – VNukovo and Domodedovo – were handling flights after suspending operations. Six flights were redirected at other airports.
Other regions targeted by attacks included the Ministry of Defense, Curse, Briansac, Belgorod and Russian-Enexed Crimean Peninsula.
The governors of the Rayan and Libra regions located south of Moscow also reported the attacks.
