Protesters seeking action on aggressive M23 rebel group at the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have attacked several embassies in the capital Kinshhasa.
A crowd of protesters attacked France, Belgium, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and the United States embassies on Tuesday, and could be seen dumped from the French Embassy after the fire.
The protesters condemned international inactivity over the struggle, targeting the embassies of countries that they accuse of Rwanda’s alleged support for the rebellious group, which denies Kigali.

The police used tear gas to disperse the protesters, some of which burnt tires and hit the police.

Rebels enter Goma
The March 23 agitation (M23) claimed to control Goma, the largest city in North Kivu province in Eastern DRC on Monday.
Since last week, at least 17 United Nations peace soldiers have died in the fight, killing three South African peace soldiers on Monday, when the rebels attacked Goma Airport.
The M23 is one of the hundreds of armed groups working in the Eastern DRC and is trying to control significant mineral mines.
The United Nations, DRC and many other countries accused Rwanda of supporting the M23 rebels. Rwanda has constantly denied the allegations.
The group is made up of Tutasi fighters and claims that it is struggling for the rights of the DRC’s minority Tutsi population. It broke after a group of armed forces of DRC in 2012, which complains of sick treatment.
Reporting Nairobi, Al Jazeera’s Malcolm Web said that many people at DRC believe that Rwanda and Uganda, whose embassies were attacked, have given air to the struggle in the country.
