The man and girl found dead were father and daughter

A man and a girl found dead at a house in West Lothian were father and daughter, police have confirmed.
The bodies of a 36-year-old man and a six-year-old girl were found after officers forced entry to the property in Harborne Drive, West Calder, on Monday afternoon.
Officers were called to the address following a report from a family member concerned about a child not attending school.
CH Superintendent Greg Banks said there is no threat to the wider community but inquiries are ongoing.

CH Superintendent Banks said officials were unable to confirm the cause of death.
Post-mortem examinations are scheduled to take place later this week.
He said there would be a “significant” police presence in the village until early next week.
He further said, “The investigation is still in the initial stages. We have a scene which we are investigating, it will take some time.”
“Equally the family needs answers and the community needs answers, so we will do that as diligently as we can over the next few days.
“There is nothing at this time to suggest that there is any other widespread risk to the community.”
Det Superintendent Grant Hendry said Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team is leading the inquiry.
He said the first local officers to respond had a “traumatic experience.”
He added: “We are continuing to support the man and the child’s family members.
“The inquest is at a very early stage and post-mortem examinations will take place in due course.”
