The boy surprised with a gift made of thousands of tubs which he saved from landfill

A little boy, who has earned the nickname “Sweet Tub Teddy” after saving thousands of confectionery tubs from landfill, is gifted to a bench made of its recycled plastic tub.
Natalie, six -year -old from Hampshire, collected more than 2,500 tubs through the Tub2Pub scheme to make outdoor furniture.
Arriving at school on Thursday, he was surprised to find the “big bench” in the playground.
“Everyone can make a difference, no matter how small you are,” said Teddy, because the bench was unveiled.
A plaque on the purple seat is written: “Thanks to Teddy for your outstanding efforts contributing to Tub2Pub 2025 with Green King, K-K8, DCW Polymer and Macmillan cancer support.”
Teddy, whose protagonist is David Atonboro, First told BBC He was “angry” when he discovered that containers could not be recycled in his family’s normal recycling bin.
Some officers in the UK have the ability to recycle the tub through the carside collection, but the Hampshire is not currently.
Teddy set up about collecting tubs from people’s homes and compartments and wrote a letter to his school, which in turn wrote to the parents.
With the help of his mother Laura, he put up posters in local businesses and asked his grandfather to go to the local tip that he should ask to save any tub which people did without.
A post of Teddy on Facebook, in which he described himself as “Eco Warrior on a mission” and explained how “hundreds of thousands (tubs) go to landfill or ocean”, helping to collect further speed.
‘Amazing effort’
Georgia Harlo from the cum-crusher said that Teddy “extended the public will” to join with recycling “, saying that he is a great example of what he can be achieved”.
He said: “The bench that we are donating to Teddy’s school is not only to show our praise for our amazing efforts, but also to demonstrate how he has helped using plastic tubs, which may have been left as a normal waste, otherwise it will be used in the school for many years to come.”
A day earlier, Teddy visited a recycling feature to find out how they use plastic collected through a plan to make outdoor furniture.
You know what they say every day is a learning day – and DCW Polymer in Exator, though not in school, he was still learning.
Teddy helped the employees load the sweet tub on a conveyor, which sent them chopped.
The chopped material is then mixed with UV additives to avoid being exposed to sunlight.
It is then heated and pushed into a mold before cutting into the planks and sent to make it in furniture upwards.
As part of the plan, Teddy’s tub was first taken to the Shamleharst Barn Pub before being taken to a plastic reproaching center.
Pub’s general manager Kieron O’ -Donel said: “This year, congratulations to Teddy for gathering more than 2,500 tubs for the Green Kings Tub 2 PB Campaign.
“We all are proud of our amazing efforts and enjoy hosting a festive meal for Teddy and her family.
“It is fantastic that he cares a lot about the environment and it is good to see how the tub saved from landfill has been recycled in this bench for school.
“Well done teddy, from everyone in Green King!”
