SpaceX loses Starship in test flight

SpaceX lost contact with its Starship spacecraft as it headed into space on Thursday during its seventh test flight.

According to SpaceX, Starship experienced “rapid undetermined disintegration during ascent” after launch from Boca Chica, Texas.

Despite the failure, SpaceX managed to successfully hold the rocket booster on the launch tower upon its return.
