Small aircraft crashed near Washington DC Airport

According to local officials, a small plane has crashed near Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington DC.

It came down into the Potomac River, said the officials, and the search and rescue boats have been deployed in the area.

Takeoff and landing at the airport have been stopped as emergency workers respond to the incident, the airport has written in a post on X.

It is not yet clear what happened due to the accident.
