Schoolgirl’s death is being treated as murder

The death of a six-year-old girl in West Calder, West Lothian is being treated as murder.

The bodies of 36-year-old Mark Gordon and his daughter Hope were found after forced entry to the property in Harborne Drive on Monday afternoon.

Police said Mr Gordon’s death is still being treated as unexplained, pending a post-mortem examination which will take place in due course.

A spokesperson said there was nothing to suggest anyone else was involved or that the public was in any danger.
