Santorini moved from more earthquakes as uncertainty increases
Many more earthquakes have hit water around the Greek island of Santorini, when the authorities declared the emergency a few hours after.
Tourist hotspots have been shaken since the days of seismic activity with thousands of earthquakes recorded since last Friday.
On Thursday evening, a 4.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded at the sea at 20:16 local time (18:00 GMT) in the sea between Santorini and another island, Amorgos, followed by a 4.2 magnitude earthquake after about two hours.
Most residents – more than 11,000 people – have already left the island as quakes are being recorded at intervals of one minute -door -minute.
Experts have warned that it is not clear that this period of “seismic crisis” may end.
The earthquake so far on Thursday has not been serious as a shock of 5.2 magnitude, which occurred in water between two Greek islands on Wednesday.
So far there has been no major damage on the island, but the authorities are preparing for a major earthquake being a hit.
The magnitude refers to the size of the earthquake, which leads to an increase in the form of decimal points.
A magnitude 6.0 and above are considered severe, where a magnitude is considered to be the strongest experienced, moderate ever, as a magnitude 5.2.
