Santander to close 95 branches with 750 jobs in danger

Centrender has announced that it is set to close 95 branches in the UK, with 750 jobs at risk.

High Street Bank said that its customers were rapidly turning into online banking and it was to start closing branches from June.

As part of the changes, the centers will also reduce hours in 36 branches and remove the front counters from 18 others.

This branch is the latest bank to announce closure, with Lloyds announced 136 closures in January,

The closure will release Santnder with 349 branches below 444.

It states that the areas of losing branches will be covered by “New Sentender Community Bankers” which will visit local communities on a weekly basis.
