Rory McLero: Masters Title, Awe Rider Cup Win and Olympic medal last career ambition
For a decade, he has been trying to distinguish the green jacket to satisfy a set which currently includes trophies from two US PGA Championships (2012 and 2014), The Open (2014) and US Open (2011).
Masters is what he wants the most, but he is also inspired by the idea of winning the Rider Cup for the second time – and second time – and to add Olympic glory. In fact, give him to those people and his hunger will eventually be given for golfing success.
“Winning the masters, winning an Olympic medal and removing the rider cup, they are three goals for the rest of my career,” McClayoy told the BBC Sport.

Therefore, as he began his 2025 PGA tour season on Pebal Beach this week, McClayy is sewing everything to be in the second Thursday to tease it in Augusta on the second Thursday of April.
“I realize that I can control everyone,” he said. “What is right for me right now is that I focus on myself completely and get my best by myself and come back to win the biggest tournament in the world.
“I have been suffering for the last few years, without being able to complete it and this is the main focus of this year.”
The fact is that it is more than a decade because he has last added to his major win list, one of the most shocking figures in modern sports.
He has achieved everything else, including winning the prestigious Players Championship in 2019, which was in those days when all the world’s best PGA was competing in Sogras for the major title of the Tour.
But the players are not prominent. Playing with more restraint in the US, the 2025 schedule has been reduced, designed for success in the Big Four events that define career.
“All my exercises, all my prep, even the tournament that I am playing, even all this is ready to be ready for those four events,” McClayoy said.
“Augusta is Augusta. I have gone through my statistics and there are some things that I was indicated that I could definitely be better – some small shots around Greens.”
He renowned the famous four-shot final-round lead with a ruins 80 in the 2011 Masters and was runner-up without acting really in 2022. He faded brilliantly in the final pair with champion Patrick Reid in 2018 in one of his four. Top-five Augusta finishes.
Some observers believe that the first chief of the year is designed for McLaroy’s powerful game, but it has a way to find them by technical and nature.
