Rod Stewart joins King at Time Capsule event

King Charles has placed a personal letter in a time capsule to be buried in Ayrshire and opened in 100 years.
The King was the first to place an item in the King’s Foundation Capsule at Dumfries House, near Cumnock, as part of the charity’s 35th anniversary celebrations.
The monarch was joined by singer Sir Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster at the ceremony for the organisation, which he founded in 1990 as the Prince of Wales Institute of Architecture.
The charity plans to collect items representing their work over the coming year, before burying them in a capsule on the property, under the condition that it will not be opened until 2125.
King Charles founded the organization to promote sustainability and the public’s relationship with nature.

It was absorbed into the Prince’s Foundation in 2018, which later became the King’s Foundation after his accession to the throne.
The charity is based on the Dumfries House estate, which the King purchased as Prince of Wales in 2007.
He was residing at the estate when his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, became seriously ill shortly before He died in September 2022,
The contents of King Charles’s letter will remain unknown until it is excavated in a century’s time.
Christina Murin, chief executive of the charity, said: “We are extremely proud of what The King’s Foundation has achieved over the last 35 years.
“I hope that whoever discovers the time capsule in 2125 will recognize the positive impact both King and his organization are having on the world and its communities.”
King Charles also hosted an audience with Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio at the property.
The King was joined at the event by television presenter and charity ambassador Alan Titchmarsh.
Stewart, 80, and Lancaster, also known as Lady Stewart, are among the charity’s many famous ambassadors.
Former England football captain David Beckham and actor Sienna Miller have also played roles.
Stewart said: “We are delighted to be joining as ambassadors for The King’s Foundation and look forward to lending our support to this worthwhile cause, especially during such an important year for the charity.”
