Reeves indicated support for Heathro expansion

The Chancellor has indicated that the government will support the third runway at the Heathro Airport, said, “Permanent aviation and economic growth go together”.
Rachel Reeves told the BBC that she would not comment on “speculation” and the government would set its plans at the appropriate time.
However, he said that the third runway in Heathro would mean “instead of traveling to London, flights will be able to land” and durable fuel flight was changing carbon emissions.
It is expected that Reeves will make an announcement in support of the expansion of the airport as part of the major speech on plans to promote the economy next week.
Asked if the chances of involving Heathro in this, the Chancellor did not directly respond but said that the government has already signed the expansion of London City Airport and Stanstad.
He said at the BBC’s Sunday with Laura Kuxburg program, “It would be good for investment and trade in our country and also good for families wishing to go on cheap holidays.”
Reeves was also challenged on whether he agrees with London Labor Mayor Sadiq Khan’s criticism that Heathro’s expansion would have a harmful effects on the air quality, noise and the capital’s ability to reach the pure zero.
In response, he said, “A lot has changed in terms of aviation”, with durable fuel and investment in electric aircraft.
The Chancellor said, “I believe that clean energy, reducing our carbon emissions is good for economic growth.”
