Please enjoy our tragedies: art as a voice for the forgotten struggle of Myanmar. Documentary

An artist runs from Myanmar after the 2021 coup and uses art to stay in the plight of his nation.

When Myanmar’s fleeing democracy was destroyed, Sai’s life turned upside down and his father was imprisoned. Sai and his wife hid. As Myanmar faded with international headlines, they knew that they had to take action, and created a series of unique artifacts.

Armed with this work, they run into Europe, on a mission to use it as activism. They are sometimes harassed by abuses, visa issues and sometimes current risk to return home in Myanmar. Sai becomes rapidly frightening, questions its mission and can he bring meaningful changes.

Please enjoy our tragedies, a documentary film by Charlie Scrimgger.
