Parents urged to enroll primary school starters

Parents have been urged to enroll children by the end of this month as primary schools start for the first time in the autumn on the Isle of Man.
The government said this would enable schools to “effectively allocate staff and resources” before September.
Parents of children turning five in the next academic year have been asked to contact their catchment area school by January 31.
Education, Sports and Culture Minister Daphne Kane said starting school is an “exciting time” and parents should connect with their school “as soon as possible”.
The government said that once enrolled, nurseries, playgroups and childminders will work with schools to “support” each child’s transition into education.
Parents can find their catchment education establishment online or by contacting the department, those who register receive more information about starting school.
The next academic year is scheduled to start from September 3.
