Oscar nominations postponed due to Los Angeles fire

This year’s Oscar nominations announcement has been delayed by two days due to deadly wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
It was scheduled for Friday, January 17, but the stars and films for the Academy Awards will now be revealed on January 19.
Voting for about 10,000 academy members, which began on January 8, has also been extended by two days to Tuesday, January 14.

In a letter sent to members on Wednesday, Academy CEO Bill Kramer said: “We want to express our deepest condolences to those who have been affected by the devastating wildfires in Southern California.
“So many of our members and industry partners live and work in the Los Angeles area, and we’re thinking of you.”
Conan O’Brien will host the 2025 Oscars ceremony on March 2 at the Dolby Theater on Hollywood Boulevard.
