The Landslide killed Jinping village in Sichuan province

According to the Chinese state media, at least one person has died and 28 is missing after a landslide in Southwest China.

The landslide buried 10 houses in Jinping village (03:50 GMT) in Sichuan province at 11:50 on Saturday and implicated several inhabitants. Two people were rescued.

According to a statement by the Bureau of Emergency Management of County, a command center has been set up at the scene.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has ordered the “all-out” rescue of the trapped people.

State media images show a major collapse of mud and rock from a steep hill, which appears as a small village.

According to a statement by China’s Emergency Management Ministry, hundreds of emergency employees are looking for the remaining people. About 200 people have been vacated.

President Xi has ordered the officials to “make every effort to find and protect the missing people, reduce the number of casualties and handle properly”.
