The need for data centers has increased in the last few years. New centers are being built in India also. Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s company Reliance Industries (RIL) has prepared a plan to build the world’s largest data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This will increase the country’s capability in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Bloomberg report states that Reliance Industries has purchased AI semiconductors from Nvidia, one of the big companies related to AI. However, information about the project related to data center has not been given by Reliance. At the Nvidia AI Summit India held in Mumbai last year, Nvidia Chairman Jensen Huang had announced his company’s partnership with Reliance. Huang had said, “Software used to be made in India. You have exported software. In the future, India will export AI. To lead in artificial intelligence, you must have AI model technology which India has. You must have data. Then you need to have AI infrastructure.”

In this event, Ambani had said that India will be included in the big markets of intelligence in the world. Recently, the World Economic Forum (WEF) had said in a report that Indian companies are progressing rapidly at the international level in the use of important technologies. These include AI and robotics. The job market is changing due to the increasing demand for AI-related skills.

The Future of Jobs report said that increasing digital access, tensions between some countries and efforts to deal with climate change will be the major trends shaping the future of jobs in the country by 2030. Companies in India are investing a lot in AI, robotics and autonomous systems. Because of this, jobs for Big Data specialists, AI and Machine Learning specialists are increasing in the country. WEF reports that 67 percent of companies plan to use diverse talent pools to meet talent needs. Along with this, about 30 percent of the companies are considering doing skill-based hiring by removing the requirement of degree.
