Where do all these numbers leave Salah when we talk about some of the great forwards in the Premier League?

Salah can already be considered a Liverpool legend, having won every major trophy with the club.

He is fourth in the all-time scorers’ list with 229 goals in 373 matches, just 12 behind third-placed Gordon Hodgson.

Roger Hunt (285) and Ian Rush (346) are some way ahead and at his current goals-per-game average, Salah will need another 190 appearances to break that record. Unlikely.

Talking about the great players of the Premier League, Salah is already on top as the eighth top scorer with 172 goals.

In fact, his 229 goals in all competitions for Liverpool have come four games quicker than Thierry Henry’s 228 for Arsenal.

Salah is just 15 goals behind fourth-top scorer Andrew Cole – not an impossible target by the end of this campaign.

What about help? Salah finished 10th on Sunday, helped by David Beckham’s 80. He is only 34 assists behind second-place Kevin De Bruyne.

The Premier League’s leading assist-maker, Ryan Giggs, is well ahead with 162, but he has played 353 more games than Salah.

When you put goals and assists together, the advice ranks even higher.

His 252 goal involvements in 279 Premier League matches rank seventh on the all-time list and his goal involvement rate of 1.1 per game is better than every player ahead of him.

At his current rate, Salah will catch Alan Shearer’s record of 324 goal involvements in 65 more matches.

Sign a new contract and it’s definitely not impossible?
