Masters Snooker Finals 2025: Shaun Murphy beats Kieran Wilson 6-2 in Masters final

Shaun Murphy dominated the opening session of the Masters final at Alexandra Palace to take a 6-2 lead over world champion Kieran Wilson.

A break of 94 in the opening frame set the stage for Murphy, who achieved a maximum break of 147 in his semi-final win over Mark Allen.

Murphy, who has not won the tournament since 2015, took the second frame and then won the fourth frame with a clearance of 65 to lead 3–1 at the mid-session interval.

Wilson, who lost to Allen in the 2018 final, looked a shadow of the player he was when he overcame Judd Trump on Saturday.

He rallied briefly to take the sixth frame with a half-century break and came back at 4-2.

However, Murphy underlined his superiority with back-to-back century breaks to take a healthy advantage in Sunday’s closing session (19:00 GMT).

The winner of the second Triple Crown event of the season will receive the Paul Hunter Trophy and first prize of £350,000.
