Maradona medical team on trial to death of football icon

Argentina football legend Diego Diego Maradona’s long -awaited trial of medical staff has started the capital Buenos Aires.

Maradona died of a heart attack at his home in 2020, at the age of 60, he was recovering from the brain blood clots at the house early that month.

Prosecutors allege that Maradona’s death could be avoided and hospital staff could be accused of medical negligence.

The defendants say that Maradona refused further treatment and should have stayed in the hospital for a long time after his operation.

If they put a prison conditions between eight and 25 years if they are convicted on charges of “murder with potential intentions”.

In an initial statement, the prosecution stated that “any member of the team” did not do so “Horror Theater” did not do so “who did this, who was Maradona’s death bed.”

Prosecutor Petricio Ferrari told the court, “Today, Diego Armando Maradona, their children, their closest, and Argentine people deserve justice.”

The defendants in the case are a neurosurgeon, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a medical co-ordinator, a nursing co-ordinator, a doctor and a night nurse.

The Night Nurse had earlier stated that he had seen “warning signs”, but did not get the order to awaken Maradona.

More than 100 witnesses will testify to test, which is expected to run by July.

Diego Maradona is considered one of the greatest footballers to play a large extent. He was the captain when Argentina won the 1986 World Cup, scoring the famous “Hand of God” against England in the quarter -finals.

During the second half of his career, Maradona struggled with cocaine addiction and was banned for 15 months after positive testing for drug in 1991.

The news of his death threw the world of football – and his country Argentina -deep mourning, threw thousands of people in the Buenos Aires for hours to walk in the President’s Mahal for hours to walk with his coffin.
