Man dies after arrest at Manchester Airport

Police Watchdog has said that a person has died at Manchester Airport, showing “unusual behavior” before being arrested.
Police Conduct for the independent office (IOPC) said it was investigating the circumstances after being declared dead at 13:53 GMT after 27 -year -old.
In a statement, IOPC said: “The man was due to traveling from the airport on Wednesday and was stopped after displaying unusual behavior.
“He was later arrested by the Border Force officials and taken to a holding area, where he became unwell and called paramedics. Sadly, he was declared dead.”
Watchdog said its investigators were gathering evidence at the scene.
IOPC director Amanda Rowe said: “First and most important, our ideas are with the man’s family and loved ones as well as all those affected by his death.
“When someone dies after taking into custody, it is important to fully investigate what has happened there.
“We are in touch with the man’s family to explain our role and will keep them updated as the investigation grows. Our investigation is in very early stages and no more information is available at this time.”
