Ireland 27-22 England: Irish showed what we are capable of doing, Captain Kalen Doris says

Captain Calain Doris said Ireland “showed what we are able to do” because they started their discovery for the third straight six nations. Bonus-point win over England,

England led 10–5 in the break, but sealed the 27–22 victory for holders in a major second half performance from Bundi Aki, Tadhag Berne and Dan Sheehan.

“It’s certainly satisfactory,” said Leinster Back Ro Doris.

“The speed in this competition is huge. You can’t win it in the first round, but you may compulsorily lose it or reduce your opportunities.

“I think we have shown what we are able to do many times. It was a good 10 days that was a pioneer and a strong belief in the plan we have made within our attack.

“As we come deeply in the tournament, this is something that we need to be strong and we need to develop.”

Ireland was excluded by England in a Tismanham thriller last year and Steve Borterwick’s side threatened to be upset in Dublin after a very energetic first half display.

But Doris emphasizes Ireland’s confidence that they will “break” England.

Doris, 26, said, “We needed to go back to work in our own way.”

“At the end of the first half that we felt we felt that we were going to break them – and when we were going to their 22 more score area, things were going to happen for us.”
