In pictures: Storm Darragh causes chaos across Britain
Storm Darragh has caused disruption across the country as its 90 mph winds caused power outages, uprooted trees and canceled events and trips.
A rare red weather warning was issued by the Met Office on Friday for almost three million people in Wales and parts of south-west England, meaning dangerous, potentially life-threatening winds were expected. There was a suspicion.
Although that warning has now expired, yellow and amber alerts remain in place as winds can still reach 70-80 mph and the risk of structural damage, downed trees, flying debris and large waves remains high.
Thousands of people have been left without power and many events and attractions including Christmas markets, sporting fixtures and all Royal Parks have been canceled earlier today, according to National Grid, with millions of people urged to stay at home .
We’ve put together a selection of photos showing the weather and disruption around the UK. Some have been sent to us via the BBC Weather Watchers Group. Scroll down to view.
