Hospital president who hatched a conspiracy to resign boss

The chairman of a hospital resigned after a tribunal after conspiring to exclude the Chief Executive Officer of the trust.

It was heard that Mr. Hethornweight and others hatched a conspiracy against him when he accused him of harassment and bullying.
In a statement following the earlier decision, Mr. Hethornthwait said that he had decided to resign with “immediate effect” and “the trust’s best interest”.
‘Wrong’
The Tribunal described Sri Hethornattva as a “wrong historian” who “did not give reliable evidence”.
He was found, along with three other people, which was described as described “Attempts to mask the forums behind the curtain” that was being built to remove Susan Gilbi “to create the presence of performance and misconduct allegations”.
Susan Gilbie, an advisor to anesthesia and intensive care, was appointed as the Chief Executive of the Trust in September 2018, two months after Lucy Latbi was arrested.
He told the hearing that at a meeting in July 2022, Mr. Hethorntwate “launched a terrible oral attack on him”, “beating his hand on the table at various junctions to emphasize those points”.
He said: “He repeatedly focused that what he said was ‘wrong’ with me. His behavior was threatening and harassing me. It was bullying, pure and simple.”
When he was suspended, he decided to resign and take legal action against the trust.

The tribunal found that he was incorrectly rejected, Dr. Gilbie said that in the last few years “many times was nothing short of torture”.
He said, “My career has been taken for me without any justification and the financial loss we have suffered is important.”
She said that she was “not ready to compromise with (her) integrity” and she had her faith in the judicial system.
Mr. Hethornweight, former Finance Director of BBC and Pro-Vice Chancellor at Central Lancashire University, said: “I have decided to step into the trust’s chair with immediate effect from my role.
“I have taken this decision in the best interests of the trust so that the focus of the organization continues to take the best possible care to the patients.”
