Honda Activa e vs Ola S1 Air: Which electric scooter will be better for you? know
Design and Build
The Honda Activa e has been introduced as an electric version of the upcoming ICE model of the same name, but major changes have been incorporated in the design. The new Activa e looks chunkier than the Ola S1 Air. However, S1 Air is larger in size. At the same time, the design style is also completely different between the two. Honda Activa Electric includes LED DRL on the handlebar, while a large headlight is included below. At the same time, minimalist design has been adopted in Ola S1 Air, which has LED DRL around the small headlamp on the handlebar.
Activa e comes with 1854 x 700 x 1125 mm size and 1310 mm wheelbase, whereas Ola S1 Air measures 1860 x 850 x 1298 mm and has 1359 mm wheelbase. The seat length of Activa e is 675 mm, whereas Ola has 738 mm seat length. Honda scooter has 171 mm ground clearance, while Ola scooter has 160 mm ground clearance. The Honda e-scooter comes with 10-11 kg more curb weight than the Ola. Diamond cut alloys are available in Activa e.
performance
Honda Activa e gets a 6 kW motor, which is capable of producing 22 Nm torque. The company claims that its top speed is 80 km/h. Three ride modes are available in it. It is claimed to take 7.3 seconds to reach 0-60 kmph.
At the same time, S1 Air also has a hub motor of 6 kW peak capacity, which claims a top speed of 90 Kmph. The company claims that it takes 5.7 seconds to reach 0-60 kmph. The e-scooter comes with three riding modes, similar to Honda.
Battery and Charging
The Honda Activa e gets swappable battery packs, which include two packs of 1.5 kWh capacity each (total 3 kWh). The company claims that these systems together can give a company tested range of 102 Km. Charging time information has not been given.
At the same time, Ola S1 Air also has a 3 kWh battery pack, but it is fixed. The company claims that the e-scooter is capable of giving a certified range of 151 kilometers on a single charge, while a true range of 125 kilometers has been claimed in Eco mode. It is said that it will take about 5 hours for the battery to be fully charged using a home charger.
All Other Features
The Activa e includes disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear, while the S1 Air gets drum brakes at both ends. Honda offers a digital display system working on a quad-core processor, 32GB internal storage and 6GB RAM. It works on Android open source operating system. Its size is 7 inches and it is a TFT (800 x 480 pixels) panel. Its peak brightness is 1000 nits. Honda RoadSync Duo variant is available in it, in which the rider gets features like reverse mode, topple alert, maintenance alert, call or music controls, navigation, live tracking, OTA updates, side stand inhibitor. Smart Key is also available with Activa e, through which it can be locked or unlocked with the key.
At the same time, Ola S1 Air also has a 7-inch LED (800 x 480 pixels) panel, which is a touchscreen. This includes features like side stand alert, reverse mode, OTA updates, music controls, vacation mode, cruise control, maintenance alert, navigation, GPS connectivity, Bluetooth, remote boot unlock etc.
Pricing
The prices of Activa e have not been revealed yet, while the starting ex-showroom price of Ola S1 Air is Rs 1,00,499. Honda Activa e will be available for purchase in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai from Spring 2025. The company will also launch its battery-sharing service called Honda e:Swap using Mobile Power Pack E in the above mentioned Indian cities. This service will be operated by Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited.
