Homes and shops without water mainly after bursting

Homes and shops have been released without water overnight, while some roads have flooded after the water exploded south of the Glasgow.

Scottish Water confirmed the properties in G41, G42, G43 and G44 postcode areas, after they burst, they faced disruption of their water supply, which occurred at around 16:30 pm on Saturday.

The affected areas include Shalands and Stretthbungo.

Police Scotland said PoloCSOVS Road was closed from Albert Drive to Cumberland Street, while Cumberland Street, Eglington Street and Maxwell Drive were also flooded.

Scottish Water said that engineers and emergency teams had worked through the night and were expected to be repaired by 10:00 pm on Sunday.

Road users and public were advised to escape from the region.

A statement of Scottish Water states: “Complex valve operations have been completed to re -root water through different parts of our network and bring back to all customers, however, it should be under low pressure Can

“Further network adjustments are being made in an attempt to boot this pressure and restore normal water supply.

“Customers who requested bottled water will be contacted to ensure their supply is restored.”

The company also warned the customers that while continuing the repair work, “you can be low pressure, and/or water.

“If you experience frustrated water, please run your cold kitchen tap only on half pressure until the water is cleaned.”
