Hamas confirms the death of military chief Mohammad Def

Hamas has confirmed that his military chief Mohammad Def was killed in an Israeli air strike in Gaza Strip last year.

The Israeli army said in August that it had killed Def last month, but Hamas had not confirmed it yet.

Hamas has also announced the death of Deputy military commander Marwan Isa.

The US announced the death of Isa in March last year. At that time, he was the most senior Hamas leader to die since the war began on 7 October 2023.
