Fury vs Usyk 2: Lennox Lewis, Tony Bellew, Frank Warren react

Fury weighed in at a career high 20st 1lb as he looked to avenge the only defeat on his illustrious professional record and proceeded to dominate the early exchanges of the fight.

As the rounds progressed, Usyk’s boxing talent began to catch up to Fury, as he landed strikes of his own and increased the pace of the bout.

Former WBO cruiserweight champion Johnny Nelson said on Sky Sports that his fight was “a little closer” than the judges expected.

He said, “Usyk initiated almost everything in the fight and Tyson had to respond.”

“Yeah, it was close, I don’t think the scorecards were that way. But I think Usyk did a great job. Frank (Warren) was saying he thought Tyson won.

“It has to be a promoter. He thought there was no way in a million years that Tyson could win.

“The best man that night won and got the job done.”

Fury and Usyk’s promoters had very different views on how the fight should have been scored with the Queensberry chief supporting the Briton.

Warren said, “How did Tyson only get four rounds in this fight? It’s impossible.”

“He’s as disappointed as I am. Everyone at ringside thought it was the same.”

While Team Usyk’s Alex Krasyuk thought it was fair to give Fury only four rounds.

“I had three or four rounds of Fury,” he said.

“The judges gave him a four. That might be the fairest score.”
