FPL tips and Gameweek 18 squad: Erling Haaland is in this week – expect Manchester City to bounce back

Mohamed Salah (captain), Liverpool, £13.5 million – home to Leicester City

No words needed – Param-Captain unless otherwise stated.

Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City, £9.5 million – home to Everton

I think in this terrible run of defeats everyone is expecting City to snap out of it, find form and completely thrash someone.

Well why not this week?

De Bruyne is a high-risk, high-upside pick in a game that could easily be 5-0 if City plays like the City of old.

He has been rested and has returned every 75 minutes in the last three matches.

Antoine Semenyo, Bournemouth, £5.6 million – home to Crystal Palace

He scored one of his four goals against Manchester United and his underlying statistics remain incredible.

The Ghanaian midfielder has had 67 shots in 16 games this season – one in four per game – and numbers like that mean you’re always in with a shout of a comeback.

The home game with Palace could be a goalscorer – so choose Semenyo with confidence.

Mohamed Qudus, West Ham, £6.2m – away from Southampton

These next two midfield selections may seem a little odd, as they both scored in Gameweek 17, but you’ll have to take my word for it that I had this team picked before they were selected. Honest

Either way, if you can’t stand Jarrod Bowen – or you just want to be different, kudus is the way to go for the Hammers attack.

The Ghanaian is just behind Bowen in all attacking statistics this season – 36 from 43 shots, expected goals (xG) from 4.02 to 3.56.

Despite the 0-0 loss at Fulham last time out, the Saints are still a goalscoring team with forward players.

Ismaila Sarr, Crystal Palace, £5.7 million – away from Bournemouth

With Eberechi Eze likely to be ruled out again, Sarr has the chance to be the central man for Palace in a game that could turn into a thriller.

The Senegal winger has returned four in his last two matches, and seven in just 10 matches this season.

With very few games left until the beginning of March, Sarr presents a great budget option in midfield.
