Former MP David TC Davis says

A former cabinet minister, who has lost his seat on general election claims, has automatically rejected for jobs by Artificial Intelligence (AI) software as he does not have a degree.
David TC Davis, who was a Welsh Secretary in Rishi Sunak’s Orthodox government, has called upon employers to rethink the role of AI on being admitted.
Many companies regularly use applicant tracking systems and grade CVS, Despite concerns they can filter the best candidates,
Government has produced Guidelines on the use of AI in recruitmentWhich warns companies: “There is a risk of inappropriate bias or discrimination against applicants in all stages.”
Davis left school at the age of 16 and worked in his family’s transportation business before being selected to the National Assembly for Wales in 1999 and later served 19 years as an MP for Monmouth.
After taking out himself out of work after the general election, he said that he applied for several degree level jobs outside politics, only rejected immediately. He believes that his failure was due to lack of merit which would be acceptable to an automated CV reader.
He told the BBC: “Apparently when you deposit a CV, no human sees them – and if you have a little strange CV, which I have, you have no chance.”
Even when he progressed, he faced an unusual challenge when a multinational organization sought details of his last boss.
He wrote on LinkedIn: “In one case I moved a little further and got a form with the following questions:
“Name of the last line manager?” I replied: ‘Rishi Sunak’.
“Last line manager job title?” I said: ‘Prime Minister of the United Kingdom’.
“Line manager’s telephone number?” I have a sage’s number, but certainly it was put in the box.
He jokingly said that the former PM would not have given him a good reference if he shared his phone number.
Davis was one of the 175 Tory MPs to lose his seat last year. He was entitled to the loss of the office payment if he had lost his seat and was an MP for at least two years – as well as advice on searching for jobs and writing CVs.
He is not the only person who started fighting to find work initially. Telegraph told that another pre-citizen MP Earned only £ 575 since the election.
Davis said that employers can recall various talents using applicants using tracking systems that scan CVS and filter unqualified candidates.
A reaction to his CV suggested that he could be suitable for an entry level public affairs job at a low level.
“It’s not a whing, it’s not about me, it’s more for other people. Not everyone has found a traditional CV that sees you working on the management ladder.”
Davis stated that before the days of smartphones and Satanavs, the skills required to run the lorry across Europe for their family business were required to “need PhD in general knowledge” – the qualities that were ruined on the applicant tracking systems.
The former-minister, who is now working as the head of employees for Welsh Orthodox in Welsh Parliament, said that the use of AI recruitment software may not be good for companies.
He said, “They are all going to recruit the same type of people – they are going to end with the templates,” he said.
