Fisherman rescued after 95 days

A Peruian fisherman who survived for 95 days, lost to the sea in the Pacific Ocean, has been re -rescued with his family by eating turtles, birds and cockroaches.

Maximo Napa Castro, on 61, December 7, on the southern Peru coast, what should have been for a two -week fishing journey from the coastal city of Marcona.

In ten days, a storm left his boat, leaving him with a decreasing supply.

His family began a discovery, but Peru’s marine patrolling was unable to find him.

It was not till Wednesday that the Ecuadorian patrol vessel Don F found it 1,094 km (680 mi) from the coast, dehydrated and in a serious position.

Maximo survived by catching rain water in his boat and eating whatever he could find.

Near the Ecuadorian border, in an emotional reunion with his brother in the father, on Friday, he explained how he had eaten Roches and birds before resorting to sea turtles. His last 15 days were spent without food.

Thinking about his family, including his two -month -old granddaughter, he got the strength to bear, Mr. Castro said.

“I thought about my mother every day. I am grateful to God for giving me a second chance.”

His mother, Elena, told the local media that, while her relatives remained optimistic during their son’s disappearance, she started losing Asha.

After his rescue, Mr. Castro was taken to Payat for medical evaluation before being blown to Peru’s capital Lima.

There, at George Chavez International Airport, he was met by his daughter, INS NAPA in a emotional reunion surrounded by a media scram. He welcomed the house with a bottle of Pisco, Peru’s national drink.

In his home district of San Andres in the ICA region, neighbors and relatives told Peru’s media agency RPP that they decorated the roads at the festival.

His niece, Leyla Torres NAPA said that the family planned to celebrate his birthday, which passed through the sea.

He told the agency: “His birth day was unique because he could eat all (while in the sea) was a small cookie, so it is very important for us that we celebrate because, for us, it has been reborn.”

Last year, the Russian Mikhail Pichugin was rescued after spending more than two months in a small inflatable boat in the oaksk ocean east of Russia.

Similarly, Jose Salvador Alvarenga, a Salvadoron fisherman, acted an extraordinaryly an extraordinary manner in the Pacific Ocean.

Exiting the coast of Mexico in late 2012, he was eventually found in the Marshall Islands in early 2014, and also survived rainwater and turtles.
