Both clubs have now confirmed that the game is going ahead at Goodison Park.
An Everton statement said: “A safety meeting was held this afternoon to assess the weather and travel conditions for fans attending the match, which confirmed that the game can go ahead.
“A team of Everton staff and Liverpool City Council’s StreetScene Services team have been treating the roads and footpaths around the stadium since early morning to ensure they are as safe as possible for supporters accessing the stadium.
The match will kick off at 19:45 with coverage from 19:35 on BBC iPlayer and Red Button.
