Diallo’s derby – how Amad made the difference for Man Utd against Man City

Even the best players in the world can suffer from a lack of confidence sometimes, but it’s amazing to see it throughout the City team.

When they were beaten at home by Tottenham a few weeks ago, they at least tried to get back into the game and attack Spurs, but failed on the counter.

This time, they offered nothing in attack after half-time.

Yes, they were ahead against United and I can understand teams sometimes holding the lead and being a bit more pragmatic.

City may also be wondering what happened against Feyenoord when they fell late on.

That negativity may stay with you, but not to this level.

They completely gave up possession for most of the second half and that wasn’t even against a good United team.

This was a United team who, apart from Diallo, were playing to contain City and did not have much penetration for two-thirds of the game.

Yet City didn’t beat them 1-0 and what’s worse, they didn’t actually even come close to doing so.

Lack of creativity is a big problem for City at the moment. I know conceding goals is also an issue for them but this is the first time under Pep that it doesn’t look like they are going to score goals.

So, they have two areas to address, and it seems like it’s a huge task for them, especially because they’ve never had to deal with it before.
