Defense Export From India Increase 10 Times in Last Decade to More than Rs 21,000 Crore

Addressing officials at the Army War College (AWC), Singh said the target is to increase defense-related exports to about Rs 50,000 crore by 2029. He said that Army Training Centers are playing an important role in preparing soldiers for future challenges. Singh said that there have been major changes in the methods of war. This includes information, artificial intelligence, electromagnetic and cyber attacks. He said that the army needs to be equipped with better training as well as equipment to counter such attacks.
Singh said that the Modi government is committed to strengthening the integration between the three armies. He said that the government aims to make the country among the strongest economic and military powers in the world. Singh said, “Economic prosperity is possible only when full attention is paid to security. Security will be strong only when the economy is strong. These two strengthen each other.” America ranks first in purchasing military equipment from India. Products of companies like Boeing, Cummins Technologies, Avantel operating from the country are being supplied to America. These include bullet proof jackets, helmets, electronic equipment.
Israel is also ahead in purchasing military equipment from India and is at second place in this list. Products of Indian companies like PLR Systems, Kalyani Rafale Advanced System and Adani-Elbit are exported to Israel. These include products like bulletproof jacket, helmet and battery. Military equipment is also supplied to Britain from the country. These include bullet proof jackets, helmets and aero components. It is exported from Indian companies like Cummins Technologies and Mahindra Defence. In the last few years, defense related trade between India and France has increased rapidly. Recently, India had also signed a deal with France to buy Rafale fighter planes. Aerospace components and batteries are being supplied to France.
