Church of England completely rejects independent security
The governing body of the Church of England has rejected a completely independent security model to deal with cases of misuse.
Sinod members instead adopted an alternative model, which was described as “the path in the short term” for future freedom in future.
But Andrew Grustone, a victim and a lawyer of the survivors said that the decision was “a punch” for the victims of the victims and the Church’s misuse for the remaining people and accused the church leaders of “shocking ego”.
The vote comes in response to questions about the resignation of the former Archbishop of Cantorbury Justin Welby and questions about the archbishop of York Stephen Cotrail.
The church has faced criticism for handling cases of child abuse spread over decades.
Professor Alexis J – who led the national probe into child misconduct – and Barrister Sarah Wilkinson reviewed security measures and the Dharm Sabha was expected to vote on models proposed by both experts.
However, after an amendment, the Pro -J -supported model – who proposed a safety body completely independent of the church – was not voted at all, and the Vilkinson proposal was adopted.
This will look at the creation of an independent central security team for the church – but will continue in the same role with Dioxance and Cathedral Safety Officers.
The alternative model must have also made the security officers of the church around the country of that independent body, independent of church organizations.
Earlier, Prof Jai Tha Said that the church took the risk of falling into crisis when he failed to adopt a more independent system. To keep people safe.
Commenting on the model adopted by the Dharmasabha after the vote, Mr. Grustone said: “If you misbehave by a wicker, you will still be expected to report a bishop.
“Security employees will still be located in church offices, which are employed by very bishops.
“The Church of England has the opportunity to start a renovation of confidence, by accepting that it needs expertise from outside. But instead they have chosen to keep it in the family.”
