Charlie Hebdo Meat went to jail for 30 years for a cleaer attack
In 2020, a person has been jailed for 30 years for an attempt to kill two people with a meat cleaver outside Charlie Hebdo’s former Paris offices.
Pakistan’s 29 -year -old Zaheer Mahmood attacked two employees of the Premier Lignez News Agency and was badly injured, Charlie Hebdo had re -published the cartoon depicting Prophet Muhammad.

The court heard that Mahmood had planned his attack after Mahmud renewed his cartoon of the Prophet in September 2020, to mark the opening of the testing of some people responsible for the 2015 massacre.
The court was told that Mahmud was influenced by the radical Pakistani preacher Khadim Hussain Rizvi, who urged him to “avenge the Prophet”.
Armed with a meat cleaver, he arrived at the former Hebdo offices in the 11th district of the French capital, and attacked two employees of the Premier Lignis News Agency and were seriously injured, who have offices.
Witnesses of that time told how they were “covered with blood, covered by a man with a man”.
His victim, a woman named “Helen”,, 32, and a 37 -year -old man, was present in the sentence, but did not comment on its result.
Nor has Mahmud’s arguments accepted for apology.
The 37 -year -old said, “It broke something within me,” as he told the court of his long rehabilitation process.
Mahmud arrived illegally in France in 2017, although initially it was claimed to come in 2019. He also lied about his age, claimed to be 18 years old.
Mahmud’s defense lawyer, Albertic de Gyardan said that his customers lived and worked with Pakistanis and felt different from France.
“He does not speak French, he lives with Pakistanis, he works for Pakistanis,” said Mr. Guarden. “He never left Pakistan in his head.”
