Boy playing with Nerf Gun was closed by armed police


A mother says that her 13 -year -old son “is still in shock” and the armed police “struggling to sleep” after her and a friend. .

Annett told BBC Radio Sussex: “When I reached the park, there were already four police cars and eight to 10 officers around the boys.
“When armed officials realized that they were catching toy guns, they are starting to talk to the boys.
“I was very scared. It was incredible. I can only imagine how the boys felt at that moment.
“It was slightly out of the ratio. It looked a bit like an American action film. It was too much.”

He said that the authorities were later “very pompous” and “really good”.
But she said: “My son is very shaken. She does not want to play anymore in the park.”
The Sussex police confirmed that it received a report of young people with a suspected gun in Hangton Way at around 17:30 GMT on Saturday.
A spokesperson said: “Officers, including armed officials, participated, where it was established that these children were playing with a toy gun.
“Two boys and a parents were given words of advice, and the police’s response stood down shortly after.
“We continue to advise the youth, their parents and carers, so that toys, air -hold guns, Bibi guns or similar items can be used safely and legally.”
