Body of missing person found at landfill site

Essex Police said the body has been identified as that of Kamali Turhan, 46, who went missing from Chelmsford on November 19.
It said the search for the missing person has now been completed and his family has been informed.
The force is continuing to appeal for information about a suspect, who has been identified as Ceyhan Dinler, 38, of Chelmsford, who is said to have been in contact with anyone the day Mr Turhan was last seen. Left the country that day via Stansted Airport.
Ciprian Ili, 44, of no fixed address, has been charged with assisting an offender and remanded in custody. He is due to stand trial at Chelmsford Crown Court on September 15.
Police said the landfill site was in Essex but did not disclose the location.
Det Ch Inspector Lewis Metcalfe said: “Specialist officers have been working diligently at the landfill site for 45 days in conditions that have taken a huge toll on their resilience.”
The force said inquiries at the landfill site would continue for several days.
‘Extremely challenging investigation’
Mr Turhan last seen At The Globe pub on Rainsford Road in Chelmsford on the morning of 19 November.
Police said he may have later been at Barista, a bar and restaurant on Duke Street, however, CCTV did not show him leaving the venue.
He was reported missing when he failed to arrive for work later that evening.
Det Ch Inspector Metcalfe said: “Their (officers’) hard work has continued unabated even during extreme weather to support detectives who have worked quickly to pursue an extremely challenging investigation.
“During this difficult time, we are in regular contact with Kumalee’s family. They will continue to receive support from specialist officers as they take some time to come to terms with this news.”
