Severe floods in Queensland have forced thousands of people to cut electricity into homes and wash the sections of an important highway.
In Townsville, one of the most difficult cities in the region, people are snatching themselves and for floods.
After the rains on Monday evening, BBC reporter Simon Atkinson joined the local people while surveying the loss so far.
