Australian Open 2025 results: Novak Djokovic beats Jiri Lehka to set up quarter-finals with Carlos Alcaraz

During his third-round win over Tomasz Machak, Djokovic looked tired at times and required a medical timeout.
He looked fresh against Machak’s compatriot, controlling the opening two sets and preventing Leheka from earning a break point for more than an hour and 40 minutes.
When Lehka broke back at the start of the third match, an agitated Djokovic shouted to his team – which included his former rival Andy Murray – that he complained of noise from the stands while trying to serve.
But the seventh seed used the crowd to his advantage in the tie-break, handling them after hitting a brilliant backhand pass and putting his hands over his ears after a deft volley to earn two match points.
“When you’re feeling adversity in the last few matches, I think I’ve handled it well,” Djokovic told Eurosport.
“Only the people at the highest level understand what you have to deal with. There’s a lot ahead of you and you have to weather the storm when you’re feeling challenged.”
